ArizonAdopt a Classroom has been sponsoring teachers in Pima County Arizona for 7 years. We have many low income neighborhoods where the parents can't give financial support to the schools. Many businesses and individuals have sponsored teachers. Our legislature keeps cutting funding for the schools, so our organization is more important than ever before for helping the teachers buy the teaching tools they need and can't afford to pay for themselves. The teachers are still spending hundreds of dollars out of pocket every year because the school districts don't receive the funding from the state. So far we've been able to fund every teacher/principal request - over 2000 teachers in mostly 5 school districts in Pima County. Most of those teachers are in Tucson Unified School District, the largest in Arizona.
